Briarwild
A procedurally-generated RPG exploration game. I'll be honest. I started working on this before the AI boom. Then I used the AI boom to finish it.
Briarwild is a procedurally generated wild-forest survival RPG. Every run drops you into a fresh, seeded forest: level up, pick upgrades, chain kill combos, survive the hordes — and slay the Demon Cyclops that comes hunting you every five levels.
Features
- Procedurally generated forest world, four map sizes (up to Huge 520×520)
- 18 enemy types that unlock as you level — melee, lungers and ranged casters
- Roguelike runs with a goal: awaken every Waystone, then slay the Briar Heart to win
- Level-up upgrade cards, kill combos, escalating hordes, boss fights, slow health regen
- Local leaderboard, run stats, explored-only minimap
- Play in browser, on desktop, or on Android (touch controls + gamepad support)
- Rebindable keys, separate music/sound toggles, music volume slider
Controls
- Keyboard: WASD / arrows move, Space (or J) attacks, Tab stats, Esc pause — rebindable in the menu
- Gamepad: left stick / D-pad moves, A attacks, Start pauses
- Touch (Android/mobile web): left-side joystick, right-side attack button
